CELEBS WORKING AT RETAIL STORES?

CELEBS WORKING AT RETAIL STORES?
Free Advertising? Who wouldn't want to take advantage of that? Celebrities can provide free advertising for your store. Society looks to Celebs for everything from their fashion sense to their political views these days. The holidays are a great time to highlight seasonal trends in your store, on your websites and in your closet. This fall/winter season look to celebrities to help with merchandising ideas to spice up your store and excite your customers. The top accessory trends are:
Fashion Statement Jewelry Pieces and Long layered necklaces, which are often seen on Sarah Jessica Parker.(http://www.film.com/features/story/trend-watch-statement-necklaces/24469245).
Chunky Pearls are staples for everyone from Madonna to Oprah. You're not a "Gossip Girl" or a "Lipstick Jungle" maven without a necklace with broach and vintage inspired embellishment.
The Olsen Twins always look perfect in Chandelier and Hoop Earrings (http://www.icelebz.com/celebs/olsen_twins/photo26.html) as does Rachel Zoe, our go to celebrity stylist in her abundance of cuffs and bangles.
Last but certainly not least - stars like Jessica Alba and Jennifer Aniston (http://www.tolanicollection.com/) were wrapped in scarves in the hot summer months, so they are a definite must have now that it's winter!

Fall Beauty Trends
FALL BEAUTY TRENDS FOR HAIR, NAILS, AND LIPS
HAIR
The Messy Bun: For those who don't have the patience for styling, you're in luck, because the latest trend in updos takes neither time nor skill to achieve. This is no ballet recital bun: you won't need bobby pins or hairspray. Inspired by Swedish singer (and style icon of the moment) Lykke Li , the truly fashion forward are piling their locks into simple knots on the very tops of their heads.
NAILS
Solid Gold: Always the leader in nail trends, Chanel has positioned its Gold Fiction nail polish as the new "must-have." While it has yet to reach the cult status of past blockbuster shades such as Vamp or Black Satin, the metallic varnish is certainly the closest thing to an "it" shade right now. Also hotly tipped by beauty trendsetters is the companion shade, Kaleidoscope, another disco metallic similar to Gold Fiction in glimmer but platinum rather than gold. Because both are limited edition shades, they sold out quickly, so you'll have to hunt them down on eBay at this point.
LIPS
Black Magic: Apparently goth isn't a trend that one outgrows upon high school graduation because the most coveted lip gloss color of the moment is black. Perhaps makeup addicts are finding inspiration in Twilight mania (the movie opens next month), because both YSL's Pur Black and LancĂ´me's Piha Black have been selling out. To avoid looking too costumey, try layering it over red lipstick, as recommended.

NYC FASHION WEEK - Sept 2008... RUFFLES, BOWS AND PLEATS - - OH MY….

Follow the Swarovski Clad Jimmy Choos, Manolos and Louboutins down the yellow brick road in the tents at Bryant Park last week and you may have just gotten a glimpse of the Land of Oz. This display was in honor of the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz and only a privileged few were allowed behind the velvet ropes to actually view the magic and here is what they saw…
Floral prints and color were everywhere from day to evening. Pin-tucking and pleating details, ruffles, bows, one shoulder gowns, evening coats, belted gowns, ombre, lace, cut-outs, architectural lines, illusion of cut-outs with mesh, ikat and photograph prints, ribbon detailing, pencil and full skirts and every length of cardigan imaginable….
Statement Jewelry Pieces added glamour, personality and excitement to even the simplest daytime outfit.
Jason Wu, Christian Siriano, Christian Cota, Derek Lam and Philip Lim combined their attention to beauty and detail with their fresh outlook.
Natural make up, natural hair (for the runway that is) and high, square heeled shoes with open toes, zippers and straps added excitement and accented every look. Take note ladies, handbags are not just to carry your lipstick and Blackberry anymore – they are jewelry in their own right. Carlos Falcci, Devi Kroell, and Sang A are among the favorites.
Click your heals three times and the week is over but September ’08 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week proved that on the other side of the rainbow--- dreams do come true….There’s no place like home, no place like Bryant Park….
